Ash Wednesday Service
A key moment in the liturgical year. We receive the cross of Christ in ash and hear the words,
“Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.
Turn away from sin and be faithful to Christ.”

Those are powerful words to have spoken over us. Words like that can transform your life. They remind us to live in the light of our mortality, to take a long hard look at how we are living, speaking, behaving and sort out anything that is not compatible with Christ’s call, and to be faithful to Christ. Lent then gives us 40 days to reflect on this and make changes.

At this service we will also situate Ash Wednesday in an Old Testament context and see how it has always been the cross that saves. But I’m not saying any more about that now, you’ll have to come along to find out.

Electoral Roll

FOR ACTION…
The NEW Chaplaincy Electoral Roll

What is the Electoral Roll?
The Electoral Roll a register of people who are able to elect other people in the church,  Being on the chaplaincy Electoral Roll means that you can vote on any relevant issues at the AGM and stand for election to the chaplaincy council.  A new electoral roll is created every six years so even if you are on the roll now you need to re-register.
Who should join the Electoral Roll?

  • If you are baptised, 18 or over and consider St Marks’ or St Paul’s to be ‘your church’ please sign up!  This is one important way of showing your commitment, it means you can vote at the AGM and are eligible to stand for election to the council.
  • If you are already on the Roll, sign up again!
  • If you are new, sign up!

What should I do now?
Fill in the forms!  You will need to complete an Electoral Roll form and because we are also a 1905  religious association under French law you will be asked to complete this form too.

Please speak to Pamela Chiodi in the church office if you have any questions or need help with which boxes to tick on the form!
Please complete both the forms below and return them to the church office as soon as possible and before 1 April.
